That I May Know Him 1

Philippians 3:10

“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, being conformed to His death.”

To grow in the knowledge of God requires a daily knowing, which is constant. Your relationship with Christ does not end with the day you give your life to Jesus, but it starts with that day. Spiritual growth requires a constant yearning of God through His word. To know God and the power of His resurrection, you have to establish personal fellowship with Him. In that fellowship comes revelation. In that fellowship comes revival. In that fellowship comes liberty and deliverance. In that fellowship comes greater grace. In that fellowship comes power.

Are you willing to know Him more? This knowing never ends till eternity. The ultimate is that it brings righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Not Ashamed!

Daniel 6:10

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime”.

Daniel was not ashamed of praying, even when he knew that a dangerous decree had been signed by the king. He continued in what he believed in. Why should you be ashamed to declare Christ in public? Why should you be ashamed of being identified as a Christian? Why should you be ashamed to dress modestly? Why should you be ashamed to be seen with Bible-believing friends? Why should you be ashamed to be seen praying? Why would you want to feel among in the midst of unbelievers?

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2).

To be proud of Christ is wisdom. To be proud of your faith is wisdom. Raise your head up high, and stand for Christ. Stand for the truth in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. Of course, there are eternal rewards awaiting you. You’ll also be rewarded here on earth. Do the right thing, and stop being ashamed!

I Hate Religion

Isaiah 29:13

“These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me”.

So it’s possible to worship God with your mouth, while your heart is far from Him. It’s possible to be called a Christian, while your heart is far from God. It’s possible to be faithful with church activities, while there’s nothing.

Let’s take a look at what religious Christianity is about. Religious Christianity is going to church, without any relationship with God. It is growing up in church, without an encounter with Christ. It is earning titles in the church, without salvation. It is attending church for years, without any spiritual growth. It is being a powerless Christian. It is attending prayer meetings, without having a prayer life. It is preaching on the church pulpit, without having a personal Bible study and prayer altar at home. Religious Christianity is studying the scriptures, because you have a sermon to preach on Sunday. It is being too busy to fellowship with God. Religion! God hates religion!

Religion is hypocrisy. It is not the life of Christ. Check it! Christ was real. He was sincere. Let’s dump religion for Christianity. Religion takes man to no where, but hell.

His grace is sufficient for us!

It is Me! (2)

Acts 12:21-23

“And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in Royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because HE GAVE NOT GOD THE GLORY: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost”.

Because, Herod gave not God the glory, but ascribed glory to himself, God smote him. It is dangerous to feel unnecessarily elated. God gave you grace, that’s why you were able to attain that height. He gave you grace, that’s why you could be called a champion. Avoid pride. It kills. When you see that you want to begin to feel unnecessarily big and self-sufficient, run to God and ask Him for help. Ask him for the grace to be humble. Every natural man has the tendency to be proud at one time or the other. But the moment you surrender to the Lordship of Jesus, walk in the spirit, and rely on God for help, He gives you grace to overcome self. His grace is sufficient for you.

Dear friend, don’t forget to always return the glory to God.

Shalom!

It is Me!

Daniel 4: 30-31

“The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? While the word was in the king’s month, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to the it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.”

It is so easy to glory in one’s achievements. Many do this without knowing. “It is me who made this thing work; without me, it couldn’t have worked.” “It is me who helped that fellow get there, without me he couldn’t have been there.” “It is me who brought this organization to this level; I was so smart about it.” Bla bla bla. Unfortunately, this act is not wanting among christians. Some of us have disappointed God through our words, and of course our thoughts concerning certain things. It is dangerous to accord glory to yourself. It is dangerous to raise your shoulders high, because of your achievements. It is God that brought you this far. It is God who helped you to assist that person. Don’t be deceived!

Nebuchadnezzar raised his shoulders, and took the glory that was supposed to be ascribed to God. And of course, he regretted his action. He became like an animal, and ate grass for 7 good years! No matter what you might have achieved, it is not you. It is God. If God does not give you that grace, you are not better than an ant. So why do you feel unnecessarily big? Humble yourself friend, and return the glory to God. He deserves it. Never think that it is YOU.

Shalom!
